Livid Skate – “Art Grind” Exhibition – Fridays Studio

Livid Skate is proud to present the “Art Grind” exhibition to be held within the warehouse confines of Fridays Studio in West Perth on 22nd July 2017.

Following up from the Livid Surf Skate – Photo Exhibition in April, “Art Grind” is sure not to disappoint. Featuring 22 local West Australian artists invited by Livid Skateboards to create artwork for its art series of decks; the exhibition aims to illustrate the collaborative process between the artists and Livid Skateboards.

Artists are: Kristian Stevens - Dipesh 'peche' Prasad - Paulie Juan - Pippa McManus Illustration - Liza Marie Gunter - Michael Shortill -Matthew Stevens - Aaron Brock - Fudge - Tom Harman -Rahalie McGuirk - Ash Schmitt - Joshua Garner - Vaughan David - Ian Mutch - Aston Van Eldik - Emma Lees - Alton Nunn - Jerome Davenport - Bertie Louise  - Jimmy Baxter - Ohtizzl

During the day, an interactive kid’s corner will feature with live artwork and skate decks for children to paint, as well as a badge making station thanks to the guys at The Butcher Shop.

As the sun goes down, setting the soundtrack for the evening will be local acts Day of The Dead, Ray Finkle, Ben Swanson, Ben Catley, Meg Wheeler and Nu Omh Ra, along with local DJ’s; Frank Lee, DJ Stalephish and other to be announced.

Livid Skate has aligned with Disabled Surfers Association to present a raffle with a stack of prizes from our sponsors who include Volte Wetsuits, Soggybones, The Butcher Shop, Gluten Free Goods, Von Dresselt Surfboards, The Lucky Ones, Sustainable Furniture Co, Dimattina Coffee, El Grotto, The Milk Barber, Gage Roads, Custard Cider co and Sailor Jerrys. All proceeds from the raffle will go towards a great cause.

Livid Skate is more than just a skate brand. Since its inception it has grown as a community of skaters, artists, photographers, surfers and other rad humans. Artists and photographers, whose work feature on the skate decks, are given a platform to exhibit their work at the Livid Exhibitions that are held to coincide with the release of each new deck series. Livid Skate aims to push against ‘consumer culture’ by creating skateboards that are artisan-made - the rolling embodiment of handcrafted cool.

The new “Art Grind” series decks will be unveiled at the launch on the 22nd and have been hand-shaped locally in Perth. They are limited to 5 decks per artwork with a variety of single- and double-kick shapes. The original artwork and skateboards will be available for purchase at the launch, and online at www.lividskate.com.

While taking the biggest new talents of the South West and pairing that with some of Australia’s best LIVE electronic artists, bands, solo artists and LIVE visual artists you’ll be watching, listening and experiencing all of this while having the best craft beer from the brew houses themselves or wine in hand and culinary offerings that the comes from venues too. Each venue will be hosting two events for 1000 lucky people that manage to get their hands on a ticket. First session is on the 17th of September at Black Brewing CO. (the old Duck Stein on Caves Road).
